Family Education Support
Education mentors support students of all ages in reaching their education goals. Mentors can help parents navigate the public school system, connect students and parents with tutors, and assist with navigating secondary education. ACS also provides summer activities for youth. The team consists of fellow Afghans with personal experience in the US education system who are ready to answer questions and connect people to existing resources. All Afghans seeking assistance or direction in furthering their education or navigating the public school system are welcome to contact us.
Education Support for Youth
Members of the Education team serve students in the Twin Cities metro area weekly to offer one on one support to students. Mentors set specific goals each quarter with students and regularly check in with them on their academic progress to ensure they are on track for graduation. Mentors advocate for students to ensure they are enrolled in the appropriate grade for their education level. Mentors can also assist students preparing to graduate high school to apply for financial aid and scholarships.
Mentors currently work with students at several high schools in the Twin Cities Metro, if you would like us to visit your or your child's school, contact us.
